Delphi

Experience an exceptional day trip with us to the revered Sanctuary of Apollo and discover the grandeur of one of Greece's most famous archaeological sites.

Tour Itinerary

Starting from Athens, our journey will take us north to the heart of Greece. After a brief stop in Arachova, a picturesque mountain village known for its handmade cheeses and vibrant carpet weaving, we will continue on to Delphi. In winter, Arachova transforms into a top destination for skiers and snowboarders, thanks to its renowned ski resorts.

Upon reaching Delphi, located on the breathtaking slopes of Mount Parnassus, you will be greeted by one of Greece's most impressive landscapes. Begin your exploration with the Temple of Athena Pronaia and the Gymnasium, located just below the main archaeological site. Nearby is the Castalia Spring, historically significant for its purifying waters, which were used by the priestess of the oracle and the pilgrims.

In the main archaeological site, walk along the Sacred Way, following the steps of the ancient Greeks. Admire the architectural grandeur of the Treasury of the Athenians, the iconic Temple of Apollo, and the ancient Theatre of Dionysus. For those who are interested, a climb to the Ancient Stadium, meticulously restored by the Romans, reveals further historical insights.

Continue your journey to the Archaeological Museum of Delphi, which houses an impressive collection of artifacts, including the Sphinx of Naxos and the famous bronze Charioteer. These exhibits, spanning from the late Mycenaean to the early Byzantine period, offer a comprehensive understanding of the cultural and historical significance of Delphi.

Conclude your trip in the charming village of Delphi, perched at an altitude of 632 meters, offering panoramic views of the Corinthian Gulf and surrounding mountains. Stroll through its narrow streets, explore the local cafés and shops, and enjoy delightful taverns. The serene atmosphere of the village and the stunning views make for the perfect ending to your day before returning to Athens.
